In Estonia you can arrange almost everything via the Internet - in 15 minutes you can start your own business, sign the contract electronically or vote in elections. No wonder that 66% of Estonian founders express satisfaction in regards to the national support system or startup community. Not only the government offers various perks for young entrepreneurs but also numerous accelerators and incubators that shape the future of the startup ecosystem in the Baltics region.

So let’s explore now best startup accelerators and incubators from Estonia!

Startup Wise Guys

Startup Wise Guys has a major mission to support startups from Baltics and CEE region and introduce their ideas to the global market. Its acceleration program lasts for 5 month during which selected teams get the opportunity to validate, develop and sell the product to business customers under the watchful eye of over 250 experienced, world-class mentors. The climax of the program is the Demo Day where founders pitch ideas in front of venture capitalists and angel investors. 

Startup Wise Guys seeks for early-stage B2B SaaS, Fintech, Cyber and Sustainability startups and provides them with seed capital, office space and access to their enormous community of startups from around the world that are always eager to share experiences and offer advice on business development.

Superangel

Focused on startups from AI, robotics, mobility, logistics, fintech and SaaS sector, the Superangel accelerator defines itself as A 12-month guided journey designed to help companies build global scalable companies. The four cornerstones of the program are building extensible sales processes, team growth, entering major markets and using the experiences of other founders in order to overcome everyday challenges. Furthermore, the Superangel investors offer one-on-one mentoring sessions and business coaching which allows to define strengths and weaknesses of each team as well as prepare the startup for the next funding round.

Workflow of the Superangel is quite innovative as it invests ina  startup and cooperates with the team afterwards in order to help them achieve success and simply support them on the rocky entrepreneur path. 

Bulidit

Based in the heart of Riga, Buildit accelerator has one of the most impressive project portfolios in the Baltics region as it focuses mainly on groundbreaking hardware ideas that are going to shape the future. In order to apply you have to work on project from IoT, mobility, smart living, health-tech or energy field, have an MVP or at least a working prototype and a scalable business model for a growing market.

Program includes three stages: Build Up focused on establishing legal entities and networking, Build It that stands for the main part of the program as it is concentrated on close work with mentors, idea validation, design thinking, product development, marketing and many others, last but not least, Build Out which is a follow up program for teams that have demonstrated the biggest progress and engagement as it involves support with fundraising and ongoing use of workspace together with Buildit facilities. 

Ajujaht

I bet that all of you have used taxify or bolt taxi service at least once in a lifetime but do you know that it was accelerated by the oldest and the most known startup accelerator in Estonia?

Ajujaht is the leading non-equity startup accelerator that admits 20 teams from various sectors every year to help them develop their ideas with bootcamps, training, experience stories, personal mentoring and social events that allows participants to get to know the startup ecosystem a little better. Besides traditional workshops that cover all the subjects that a young entrepreneur should know, Ajujaht also runs a TV show consisting of eight episodes where the best teams have a chance to introduce the products and founders to the general market. What is more, the winning startup receives a 30 000 euro prize.

Prototron

The main goal of Prototron is to turn untraditional and innovative ideas into phenomenal prototypes and then grow them into successful businesses. Program itself is very inclusive as it allows both individuals with ideas as well as businesses with established projects to apply. Its main focus is on the green and cleantech sector, especially energy, agriculture, transportation and forestry. The program consists of mandatory activities among which we can distinguish seminars, mentor days, the art of public speaking workshops, expert panels and final pitching session for the best 10 out of 50 startups.

Teams are rated by the Prototron’s Expert Committee which decides who should receive funding, 6-month incubation in the Technopol Incubator, access to legal advice from one of the leading law offices and additional perks from Prototron partners.

Tallinn Creative Incubator

Founded in 2006, Tallinn Creative Incubator offers a tailor-made development program for design companies that are registered in Estonia and have less than 2 years of operating history. Founders are expected to be highly-skilled professionals in the selected domain,  have service with distinct value proposition and validated market demand as well as the ambition of growing globally. The program itself lasts for 24 months and comes with a personal business consulting, mentoring sessions, workshops with a half-year goals establishment. What is more, all participants are encouraged to visit fairs and conferences taking place during the program which allows them to enlarge their network and gain knowledge from more experienced entrepreneurs.

Unfortunately, the program is not free of charge and to become a participant you not only have to meet all of the requirements but also pay 75 euro per month in order to be involved in the magnificent initiatives.

Tehnopol Startup Incubator

The 6-month Tehnnopol incubation program is enough to support your startup with building a sustainable business model, creating a product that perfectly meets the expectations of customers, reaching the first clients with the assistance of a sales, marketing and PR management plan as well as with finding common ground with investors and business partners. 

Tehnopol is looking for early-stage technology startups from an idea level to MVP that are registered in Estonia and have ambition to soon disrupt the market. Program is free of charge, however, it takes 2% equity from each team to tighten the relationship between mentors and founders - if you succeed, they will succeed.
