Every month, Vestbee compiles a list of the most significant financial rounds closed in Central and Eastern Europe and the broader European region, providing details on each deal. Below is a list of startups from CEE that received funds during May. 

EnduroSat, €43M in Series B

Location: Sofia, Bulgaria
Founded in: 2015
Total funding received: €68M
Recent funding sources: Morphosis Capital, Founders Fund, Ceecat Capital

EnduroSat builds modular, software-defined satellites for a wide range of commercial and government applications. The recent funding will allow the company to scale production of its new Endurance Gen3 satellites, expand its constellations-as-a-service model, and build a large new facility in Sofia to produce up to 60 monthly satellites by 2025. 

International Automotive Group, €5M in a seed round

Location: Prague, Czech Republic

International Automotive Group (IAG) develops a B2B e-commerce platform for sharing parts in the automotive aftermarket, including services for clients and franchise partners. The firm already operates in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, Hungary, Latvia, and Croatia. The news funds will support its further expansion into European markets.

DiffuseDrive, €3.15M

DiffuseDrive develops a generative AI platform that focuses on creating realistic synthetic data, specifically photorealistic images, to train AI systems. With the €3.15 million seed funding, the company aims to expand its operations from its new base in Silicon Valley and further develop its product. 

Astrolight, €2.8M in a seed round

Astrolight is a deeptech startup developing secure laser communication systems for space. The funding will accelerate the development of its end-to-end platform, designed to connect satellites with secure Earth-based infrastructure — a solution the company calls the "missing link" in space data transmission. 

DecisionRules, €1.6M in a seed round

DecisionRules is a cloud-native SaaS platform that enables businesses to automate decision-making without relying on IT teams. The startup will use the funding to expand its sales and marketing efforts in the US and UK while also developing AI-powered features and new vertical-specific capabilities to support international growth, including in Latin America.

Sort A Brick, €1.5M in a pre-seed round

Sort A Brick offers services that clean, sort, and replace missing LEGO bricks, then repackage them into complete sets. The startup plans to use the recent funding to improve operations by investing in prototype machinery, advanced computer vision technology, software development, and market testing.

Defguard, €1.2M in a pre-seed round

Defguard is an enterprise-ready platform for managing remote connections based on the WireGuard VPN, identity, and access control. The €1.2 million raised will be used to further develop the product, support international customer success, and expand the platform based on client needs.

DefendEye, €1.1M in a seed round

DefendEye is a dual-use tech company building a thermal imaging system for rapid perimeter security and threat detection, with applications in both defence and critical infrastructure. According to Hard2beat, the capital raised will support the startup in securing certifications, building initial MVPs, and carrying out pilot contracts with clients.

Pleso Therapy, over €1M in a seed round

Pleso Therapy develops a mental health platform that connects individuals and corporate clients with certified therapists through an online system. The startup will use the fresh over €1 million funding to double down on personalized mental health care, expand into new markets across Europe, and triple its overall impact.

WeSky, over €1M

WeSky develops in-seat charging systems that provide USB power to passengers’ electronic devices. Its primary product is the 60W USB system, weighing 110g per passenger, which integrates directly into the passenger seats. The startup will use the recent funding to increase brand awareness through marketing efforts and expand its sales team.

VUGENE, €1M in a seed round

Banani AI develops an AI tool that converts text input into interactive UI prototypes. The startup will use the €850,000 funding to enhance its AI design tool, improve user flow prediction, expand collaboration features, and build advanced layers connecting user insights, aiming to become a central product-design hub for teams.

Crewpoint, undisclosed seed round

Crewpoint develops a platform for maritime crew travel, including tools that are aimed at managing logistics in real-time. In May, it raised an undisclosed amount of investment that will support the company in its product development and international growth.

eAgronom, undisclosed Series A extension

eAgronom is a climate tech company dedicated to helping farmers transition to sustainable practices through real-time monitoring and educational initiatives. The funding will help the startup expand in key markets, accelerate regenerative agriculture adoption, and enhance its digital platform, with plans to cover over 4 million hectares by 2026.

memoryOS, undisclosed funding

Neuromedical, undisclosed seed round

Neuromedical is a medtech company developing VGuard, a vagus nerve stimulation device for improving memory and cognitive function in patients with Alzheimer’s and dementia. The funding from Hard2bea will support the startup’s CE certification, FDA preparation, and the final clinical trials.
