New Venture Funds:

  • Czech Look AI Ventures raises 480M Kč fund to invest in early-stage AI startups. The firm will focus on CEE-based startups but is open to proposals originating from other geographies as well.

Startup Funding Rounds & Acquisitions:

  • Estonian VC Plural backs Danish patient monitoring tool producer Teton to fund the company's expansion in the Nordics. The round amounted to $5.3M in funding and was joined by Frontline Ventures and several business angels.
  • Polish VC SpeedUp Energy Innovation invests in Dutch multi-carrier orchestration platform Bringly. The €15M round was led by the Dutch Eyos Capital, joined by Shamrock Ventures and undisclosed business angels.
  • B2B e-commerce and CRM platform Oro raises $13M growth round to reinvest in business and team growth. The round was led by Zubr Capital and joined by the startup's previous investor, Highland Europe.
  • Polish venture investor JR HOLDING takes part in a £1.85M funding round of UK's biotech Nanovery. The round also joined North East Innovation Fund, Prostate Cancer Research, while Innovate UK awarded the company with a grant of £750K.
  • Property protection drone company REAKTO raises 5M PLN to accelerate product development. The round was led by AMM Global.
  • Document processing platform Profluo raises €625K to grow the team and invest in product development. The round was led by Early Game Ventures.
  • Latvian recruitment platform Hyperjob raises 2M PLN to invest in product development and business expansion across Europe/US. The round was led by SMOK Ventures and joined by Davis Siksnans as well as Einar Roosileht.
  • Slovak e-book platform for academic literature Ineduco raises 12M Kč to expand in Czechia. The round was led by Zerogravity Capital.
  • Latvian no-code loan management system FIS.solutions attract €250K to expand the team and invest in product development. The round was led by Expansion Capital.
  • Romanian data platform for oncology Oncochain obtains €195K grant for product development. The grant was awarded by Innovation Norway.
  • AIN.Business Club announces the winners of the challenge: 100K UAH goes to coffee-based biodegradable tableware rekava. The award also recognized a bed linen company Ohra Home, the Ukrainian clothes brand byMe and an interior design studio Between the Walls.

Startup Calls:

  • AWS announces a Generative AI Accelerator. The program lasts for 10 weeks and will offer mentorship, technical support, up to $300K in AWS credits and an invitation to a demo day in San Francisco. The applications are open for startups from all over the globe until the 17th of April.
  • ORLEN Skylight Accelerator extends the deadline for the program until the 14th of April. The program is open to startups within retail sales, logistics, security, petrochemical and power-related verticals. The program participants will have a chance of testing their solutions across PKN Orlen Group, financial support and access to mentorship opportunities.
  • Żabka Generations Challenge invites startups working on the well-being and health of seniors and youth. Those accepted into the program will have a chance to pilot their solutions across the Żabka Group, obtaining valuable mentorship opportunities and implementing their solutions together with Żabka employees. The applications for the challenge run until the 11th of April.
  • The EIT Digital Venture program invites CEE teams to apply for participation. Those accepted into the program will get up to €25K grant, the opportunity to finalize the MVP under the guidance of mentors and experts as well as a chance to find the first investor. The program is open for POC/prototype stage startups within the digital industry, digital tech, digital wellbeing, digital finance or digital cities and the deadline is set for the 16th of April.
  • EIT Health Innostars Award opens up applications for the award. The program will give mentorship opportunities by go-to-market experts and a chance of pitching your solutions to investors. The applications are open to medtech startups from CEE until the 16th of April.
  • Newly-opened Lithuanian MedAccelerator is inviting participants to apply for a 9-week acceleration program. The program will feature a mentorship session and a bootcamp to prepare the participants for the demo day and further commercialization of their products. The applications are open to Lithuanian medtech companies until the 14th of April.
  • The Polish Future Crunch conference invites participants and visitors interested in the shopping of the future, virtual reality and intergenerational leadership. The event is starting in Warsaw 14th of April at 9 am and to buy the tickets you can go to this page.
