London-based VC Araya Ventures has secured $26.3 million in the final close of its oversubscribed Super Angel Fund, with support from British Business Investments.
- Established in 2022 by Rupa Ganatra-Popat, Araya Ventures is a London-based fund that backs pre-seed and seed-stage startups. Its portfolio includes notable companies such as Jove, Further, Bloom, Autometry, and Lapse.
- In August 2024, the firm announced the first close of its Super Angel Fund at €9.8 million. Later, in May 2025, Araya Ventures announced securing $23 million in a second close.
- Araya Ventures also operates the Angel Academy, a program aimed at training women to become investors and addressing the underrepresentation of women in UK venture capital, where they make up just 14% of the industry. Graduates of the academy gain access to deal flow, share opportunities with Araya Ventures, and earn carry if the firm chooses to invest.
- The Super Angel Fund will invest between £150,000 and £450,000 in around 60 UK B2B SaaS and consumer startups at the pre-seed and seed stages.
- The new fund has invested in 16 startups across the UK and Europe. These include Aeon, a proactive medicine company; Research Grid, an AI-powered platform that streamlines clinical trial workflows; Stride, a digital-first preventative health company; and Capably AI, which helps businesses implement autonomous AI management across teams.
- The team has grown to 10 members, with new offices in London and Dubai, and the appointment of Mitul Ruparelia as General Partner for the Arāya Global Fund series.
