Kyiv-based drone startup Frontline receives over $48k grant funding from BRAVE1

Kyiv-based drone startup Frontline, which focuses on developing air and ground systems for robotic defense and attack, has received a $48,450 grant from Brave1. This fresh funding will enable Frontline to further develop the Linza multitasking bomber.

  • Founded in 2023 by Oleksii Markhovskyi and Pavlo Kosolapkin, Frontline develops robotic systems for Ukraine's Security and Defense Forces, aiming to save lives through military automation.
  • The startup designs and manufactures ground robots, drones, and turrets, and provides software for combat operations. Its solutions feature resilient communication channels, advanced sensors, and can operate without GPS.
  • Frontline's Linza is a versatile UAV designed for both bombing and reconnaissance. It comes in 8 or 10 inches, features a gyro-stabilized daytime and thermal camera, and can carry a payload of up to 1.2 kg. Equipped with electronic warfare-resistant controls, encrypted video transmission, and dependable communication up to 100 meters, the Linza is actively used by advanced frontline units.

Details of the deal

  • The grant was provided by BRAVE1, a Ukrainian defence tech cluster co-founded by the Ministry of Digital Transformation, Ministry of Defence, Armed Forces, National Security Council, Strategic Industries, and the Ministry of Economy.
  • BRAVE1, which promotes collaboration among tech companies, startups, and government entities, recently awarded a $50,000 grant to Ukrainian AI-driven drone startup Swarmer. This funding will boost Swarmer's ability to simultaneously manage hundreds of drones across various platforms.

"We’ve participated at the Precision hackathon by BRAVE1 and received the recognition. These three days were extremely intense and productive: presented and pitched our product — the anti-FPV turret “Salangan”, received valuable feedback from militaries and potential clients, and refined our solution," Frontline's team, commented on LinkedIn.

  • With the grant, Frontline plans to create new boards and deliver them to pre-ordered brigades. This will support the development of a drone-bomber with reconnaissance capabilities.
