Paris-based healthcare firm Lucis, which develops an AI-powered preventive health platform based on blood biomarker analysis, has secured a $20 million Series A led by Singular, with participation from General Catalyst, Y Combinator, and several business angels.
- Founded in 2025 by Maxime Barthelot and Baptiste Debever, Lucis develops a preventive health platform that analyses blood biomarker data and converts it into personalised health insights. Users undergo blood testing covering more than 110 biomarkers across areas including metabolic health, hormones, cardiovascular risk, inflammation, and nutrient levels.
- The results are processed through an AI system that combines longitudinal health data, clinical context, and established medical thresholds to detect out-of-range values and emerging patterns over time.
- The platform generates recommendations spanning nutrition, supplementation, lifestyle changes, and follow-up testing, which are reviewed by physicians before being delivered to users. As new test results are added, the system continuously updates its guidance to reflect changes in an individual’s health profile rather than relying on isolated measurements.
"We've seen the devastating impact of late-stage diagnosis first-hand. The science is already there; what's missing is a system designed to act before symptoms appear. This is why we built Lucis. Europe deserves a healthcare model that doesn't wait for people to get sick. We are making prevention the default, rather than a privilege," explains Maxime Berthelot, co-founder and CEO of Lucis.
Details of the deal
- With the fresh capital, Lucis plans to expand across Europe, particularly into Spain, Germany, and Italy, while scaling its AI-driven preventive health platform and strengthening its clinical and operational infrastructure to support continued growth.
