CEE Startups Of The Month - VI 2022

After taking a good look at the diverse multisector startups from our past two editions - in April and May, the time has come for a new round of selected and handpicked companies, chosen throughout June.

As usual, we’d highlighted the most interesting startups from Central & Eastern Europe worth your attention - let’s find out what they’re all about!

Heroify

The very first on the list, Polish Heroify is a marketing-skills testing solution for hiring managers. Heroify is addressing the issue of ineffective and time-consuming hard-skill verification where many companies struggle to build a consistent pipeline of great marketing talent. With Herofiy, you can quickly throw the text of your job offer into the system, generate a unique test and talk only with your best candidates. Unsurprisingly, the startup has already gotten its pre-seed funding from SMOK Ventures and Movens Capital (as noted in our TOP CEE Funding Rounds for May 2022).

Blue Colibri

The next on the list, Blue Colibri is an employee-employer engagement platform for medium to big-sized companies. At its core, the startup is working on the problem of fragmented and complex communication across the organizations. To help tackle that, the startup unifies all aspects of an employee lifecycle into a single platform - onboarding, storing and filing documents, collecting data, and more - in a single, all-in-one application.

Diabetis

Diabetis is a startup building a Feetsee device that helps to monitor the condition of diabetic foot ulcers. They are hard to monitor and if untreated - may result in leg amputations. The condition itself impacts around 25% of people with diabetes and develops gradually, making it difficult to track changes in its condition. To safeguard against that, Feetsee offers a contact-less device that can not only prevent but help continuously monitor the foot healing process.

Abillio

An up-and-coming startup from the selection, Abillio is a one-stop-shop solution for running a solo business. The reason why it is more relevant than ever is the fact that nowadays more and more people pursue freelance or flexible work options over traditional employment and need … tools to do that! With Abilio, you can get a holistic company-as-a-service solution to get rid of all your administrative workload and enjoy even more flexibility and freedom in your work life!

Grows

Grows is an investment app allowing anyone to invest on autopilot. At its essence, the startup wants to democratize the investment world for those who seek higher-than-average returns of a multi-asset portfolio, as opposed to traditional banks and bonds, which are being impacted by ever-growing interest rates and inflation. With Grows, you can develop your own, age-based portfolio and invest alongside top venture funds and into promising web3 projects. As a result, you can reach your financial goals faster while making the most out of your savings.

Excitr

The next on the list, Excitr is an app to supercharge music artists’ royalty payouts. The core problem the startup is tackling is a widely publicized, yet hard-to-solve, encroachment of large music streaming services on the income and royalties of the artists. To address that, Excitr allows artists to supercharge their growth through a shareable landing page, where their fans can earn exclusive rewards for streaming the music. As a result, both musicians and their fans earn something through this mutually-beneficial medium.

Benme

Benme is a startup helping companies create and maintain customizable employee benefits programs. At its core, Benme addresses the problem of benefits programs, which are often timely and costly to create, as well as rigidly structured, leaving both the employer and employee less-than-optimally satisfied. To resolve this conundrum, Benme provides the benefits marketplace which helps manage all aspects of the process on the company side, while giving flexibility and freedom of choice to the employee.

Naco Technologies

An up-and-coming startup in our selection, Naco Technologies is a company that develops special nano-coating to replace precious metals needed for hydrogen production. The core issues, that this startup is handling, are the biggest impediments to the green hydrogen revolution - they include the high cost and rarity of the metals used (platinum or iridium) as well as their tendency to rather fast corrosion. To address that, Naco has come up with an easy-to-produce nano-coating that is significantly less prone to corrosion than the traditional materials.

Trackeo

The forthcoming startup on the list, Trackeo is a real estate management solution, aiming to simplify and optimize all aspects of the property administration processes. The problem company is trying to solve is that of disjointed and hard-to-run management solutions, which make it difficult to report, document and gather information, necessary for good and timely business decisions. Trackeo is an easy-to-use, all-inclusive piece of software that allows you to supervise all aspects of your real estate, while saving money and time for more impactful and strategic work.

Autonomy Now

Last but not least, Autonomy Now is a startup that builds an autonomous system for driverless last-mile delivery. The main reason for developing such a system is quite simple - the last mile deliveries were and remain the largest piece (up to %55) of the whole delivery cost. On the other hand, nowadays we can observe drastically spiked fuel costs, a European-wide transition to sustainable energy, and decreasing availability of labor, all of which contribute to the heightened feasibility and timeliness of this startup’s solutions.
