Spanish AI-based travel operations platform Acai Travel, designed for TMCs, OTAs, airlines, and hotels, has raised $4 million in a seed funding round led by Nauta, with support from DraperB1 and One Travel Ventures.
- Established in 2023 by Riccardo Vittoria and Henry Chen Weinstein, Acai Travel develops AI-powered solutions designed to streamline travel operations for agencies, airlines, and hotels.
- The platform provides tools that enhance operational efficiency, including AI Helpers for quick policy information, GDS Overlay for simplifying complex industry jargon, AI Translation for seamless multilingual support, and Intelligent Routing to direct travelers to the right agents based on their needs.
- The startup's platform enables travel companies to reduce operational costs by up to 50% while maintaining or improving customer service. By leveraging AI and data insights, Acai Travel also helps businesses understand traveler behavior, optimize operations, and gain a competitive edge in an increasingly complex and demanding travel industry.
"In under four months, we've reduced average handling time by 20% for one of our TMC customers on a single account. As we roll out our full suite of products, including enabling non-GDS trained agents to manage complex requests, we can achieve a 70% cost reduction," Claims Henry Chen Weinstein, co-founder and Executive Chairman of Acai Travel.
Details of the deal
- The seed round was led by Nauta, a London-based venture capital firm managing €550 million in assets. "Acai Travel’s platform, making use of LLM technologies and deep sector expertise, transforms travel operations by enabling companies to reduce handling times, hire untrained agents and build a cheaper, more flexible workforce. We’ve been really impressed by the founding team’s industry experience and are really excited to see the impact they have on the travel industry over the long term," General Partner at Nauta, Jordi Viñas, stated.
- The round was also supported by Valencia-based VC DraperB1 and One Travel Ventures, a venture capital firm backing startups addressing travel challenges.
- With the $4M raised in the seed round, Acai Travel plans to expand its AI-powered platform, enhance efficiency in travel operations, grow its client base, and further develop solutions to reduce costs and improve customer experiences.
