Ukrainian-Estonian startup Farsight Vision, known for its AI-powered intelligence tools used extensively by Ukraine’s Armed Forces, has closed a €7.2 million seed funding round. The investment was led by Axon Enterprise and Estonia’s SmartCap, with participation from several European defense investors.
- Established in 2023 by Viktoriia Yaremchuk and Volodymyr Nepiuk, Farsight Vision creates integrated software and hardware for autonomous drones and unmanned systems. Its platform transforms UAV imagery into geospatial intelligence, generating 3D models, orthophotos, and detecting anomalies in real time, including in GPS-denied areas.
- The system connects with battle management tools, simulators, and VR interfaces, allowing operators to plan, monitor, and coordinate missions.
- Farsight Vision also develops hardware modules to support its software, providing a full-stack autonomy solution that enables real-time decision-making and collaboration between human and robotic units across multiple platforms and defense operations.
“Our goal is to create a continuously updated world model that both people and robots can rely on to understand terrain, infrastructure, and change. Farsight Vision is becoming the spatial foundation for how humans and robots operate together in the real world," explains Volodymyr Nepiuk, CTO and co-founder of Farsight Vision.
Details of the deal
- The $7.2 million seed round for Farsight Vision was supported by lead investors Axon Enterprise and Estonia’s SmartCap Defence Fund, with participation from Poland’s Radix Ventures, Switzerland’s Anker Capital, Ukraine’s Resist UA, Denmark’s Final Frontier, and Estonia’s early investor Darkstar.
“Farsight Vision is building decision-making systems in one of the most demanding environments in the world. When technology is shaped by real operational use, it evolves faster and with more clarity. We’re excited to support a team whose work in Ukraine is generating insights that can improve how people and autonomous systems operate together globally," claims Rick Smith, Founder and CEO of Axon.
- The startup plans to integrate its products into a full autonomy system for drones, hire specialized talent, develop its own hardware modules, expand R&D, and grow internationally with partnerships and trials in Europe.
