New VC Funds

  • Czech VC Presto Ventures raises its second €30M fund. The firm will continue focusing on pre-seed and seed B2B startups from CEE while putting up to €3M in each opportunity.
  • London-based Local Globe brings $500M in a new fund raise and renames itself into Phoenix Court Group. The firm will mainly keep on focusing at Europe’s pre-seed to seed startups.
  • Paris-based Breega gets a €250M for a new fund to support Europe’s startups. The firm plans to back around 20 Series A+ founders across sectors and industries.
  • German VC G+D Ventures partners up with EIB to let out a new €50M  early-stage fund. The firm will focus solely on Europe’s trust and security innovations.
  • Scanvinavian VC Butterfly Ventures announces a first €47M closing of its new €100M vehicle. The firm plans to deploy capital mainly towards seed deeptech and hardware startups across Nordics and Baltics.
  • An RPA-leader UiPath rolls out a venture arm to fund startups complementary to their entreprise automation solution. The firm will back those entering their Series A to pre-IPO funding stage.
  • The co-founders of Nova Poshta, together with Andrey Fedoriv co-founded a VC fund Vesna Capital. The firm will  focus on Ukrainian startups across pre-seed to series A startups.
  • London-based Octopus Ventures opens up a £10M fund for European early-stage companies. The firm will focus on pre-seed startups across B2B software, fintech, and health, putting an average ticket of £100k into each opportunity.

CEE Startup Funding Rounds & Acquisitions

  • Serbian tech company HTEC Group gets a $140M investment to propel its international expansion. The funding was made by Brighton Park Capital.
  • Polish microinvestments startup Future Fund raises a $3,8M to build up its first MVP. The funding was made by an undisclosed group of private investors.
  • An AR startup for manufacturing/factory training KIT-AR picks up  €2M seed round for further business and product development. The funding was led by Armilar Venture Partners and Caixa Capital Risc, with participation from RKKVC, Techtree (manager through Iberis Semper) and company’s previous investors.
  • Romanian fashion e-commerce The Outfit raises a  €766k seed funding round to expand its revenue team and product development efforts. The round was lead by TSG Capital and joined by crowdinvestors from Seedblink and number of Romanian business angels.
  • Polish platform connecting consumers with local shops fyrtel.market picks a 4M PLN in funding. The round was financed through Movens Capital, CofounderZone and business angels from OLX, Allegro and Trustpilot.
  • A platform for marketing skills assessments Heroify raises a 1.7M PLN pre-seed round. The round was led by SMOK VC and Movens Capital with participation from a number of angels.
  • Game studio Frying Jelly raises 1M PLN to fund the development efforts for its first two games. The funding was made by SMOK Ventures.
  • Czech Kubernetes deployment startup Itera raises an unannounced amount from local VCs. The investment was made by  Nation1, Impulse Ventures, Ondřej Tomek and Gi21.
  • A search engine analytics platform for podcasts Hintech gets a 1M PLN investment do further develop its product. The funding was made by the SpeedUP Venture Capital.
  • Ukrainian online auction for game streamers Max Game Value raises a €100K round. The funding was made by Demium Capital.

Startup Calls

Polish oil refiner and retailer Orlen kickstarts the recruitment for its accelerators’ 5th edition. The program is open for startups working on solutions that could be complementary for the group and is ready to accept applications from all over the globe. Comapnies can apply to the program until the 1st of August.
