Notable funding rounds across Europe:
- Barcelona-based HR unicorn Factorial has raised $80M go-to-market investment from General Catalyst.
- Spanish startup Onum, which develops a data observability platform, has raised a $28 million Series A funding round.
- Helsinki-based Basemark, a developer of computer vision software and AR technology, has raised €22 million in Series B funding.
- Proxima Fusion has raised €20 million in seed funding. The round came after the startup’s €7.5 million pre-seed investment that it raised less than a year ago. The leading investor this time by redalpine.
- Danish labtech startup Reshape has raised $20 million Series A investment. Astanor Ventures led the funding round.
- UK-based Mimo, a financial management startup, has raised £15.5 million in a fresh round led by Northzone.
- UK-based digital architect for private markets, Pactio, has raised $14 million in a Series A round led by EQT Ventures.
- Swedish financing platform Gilion has raised a €10 million equity funding round, bringing its total equity raised to €40 million.
- UK-based fintech with Lithuanian roots, TransferGo, has secured a $10 million growth funding round to expand and develop in the Asia-Pacific region. The round was funded by Taiwania Capital, a Taiwan-based investor.
- German agritech Weenat has raised $8 million in a Series C round for its meteorological sensors to expand across Europe.
- London-based deeptech navigation startup Waymap completed a £7 million funding round. The investment was led by the TELUS Pollinator Fund for Good.
CEE startup funding rounds & acquisitions:
- Tallinn-based energy company Elcogen has closed a funding round, raising overall €140 million for scaling its leading solid oxide technology for hydrogen.
- Vienna-based WeAreDevelopers has secured a 7-figure investment from Round2 Capital to expand in the UK and the Netherlands.
- Vilnius-based Blackswan Space has secured €760,000 to expand its engineering team, accelerate product development, and scale its commercial activities. The round was led by Scale Wolf.
- Captiwate, a company with offices in Budapest and San-Francisco, has raised a $600,000from Interactive Venture Partners, Oktogon Ventures, Fiedler Capital, Cloudbreak VC, and angel investors.
- Ukrainian AI platform Mantis Analytics joined the US-based Alchemist Accelerator, and raised an investment of $30,000 from it.
- Ukrainian Competera, which develops an intelligent price optimization platform for retailers, has raised funding from u.ventures. The details of the round were not disclosed.
- ZAKA VC, a venture capital family office that supports early-stage tech startups, has invested in a New York-based biotechnology company, Lime Therapeutics.
- Ukraine-founded recruitment tech startup JobCannon, which uses AI to simplify job searches, has acquired Ukrainian marketing company Adsme. The amount of the deal is undisclosed.
- Bulgarian e-commerce startup Rush has been acquired by London-based Shop Circle. The financial details of the deal were not disclosed.
New venture capital funds and VCs’ news:
- Investment firm Lakestar closed its latest funds, Lakestar Early IV and Lakestar Growth II, for around $600 million to support the European startups, working in sectors such as AI, digitalization, deep tech, healthcare, and fintech.
- Austrian Elevator Ventures launched EV II, a €70 million venture capital fund to support startups that are developing their solutions in the fields of fintech and beyond banking.
- French Quantonation Ventures has closed its second early-stage fund dedicated to quantum technologies, Quantonation II, at €70M of its €200M target.
- Interactive Venture Partners launched €50 million inaugural fund, Interactive Venture Partners Fund LP. It is supported by the family office of Thomas Peterffy and will provide capital to pre-seed, seed, and Series A startups founded in CEE.
