Naples-based cloud infrastructure startup Clastix has raised €2.9 million in a seed round led by CDP Venture Capital Sgr, with participation from Mistral and VERTIS SGR through its Vertis Venture 6 Digital Sud fund, partially financed by the EU’s NextGenerationEU program.
- Founded in 2020 by Adriano Pezzuto and Dario Tranchitella, Clastix develops infrastructure software that helps enterprises run Kubernetes environments more efficiently at scale.
- Its commercial platform, kMetal, enables organisations to manage Kubernetes fleets using shared infrastructure, reducing hardware requirements and operational overhead.
- Clastix also develops Kamaji, its open-source Hosted Control Plane engine, which remains available under the Apache 2.0 license.
- The company’s technology is used by infrastructure teams across Europe and North America in sectors including AI, telecommunications, cloud services, and the public sector. Its customers include NVIDIA, Mistral, and Fastweb.
Details of the deal
- The fresh capital will be used to accelerate product development, expand customer success and solutions engineering teams, and support Clastix’s go-to-market efforts. The company also plans to grow its headcount over the next three years as it expands into new markets and serves larger enterprise customers.
“The next phase of AI won't be decided by models alone but by who controls the infrastructure layer beneath them. This funding goes toward building that layer for what's coming: expanding our R&D to better support AI-scale workloads, and growing our team to bring it into new markets as they build their AI infrastructure," explains Adriano Pezzuto, co-founder and CEO of Clastix.
