Kyiv-based startup The Fourth Law has raised funding through a rolling round to scale a plug-and-play AI module that gives FPV drones critical autonomy features, already deployed on the frontlines in Ukraine.
- Founded in 2023 by serial entrepreneur Yaroslav Azhnyuk, The Fourth Law develops hardware and software infrastructure that equips basic FPV drones with advanced terminal autonomy — enabling them to identify, lock on, and strike targets even under electronic warfare or GPS-denied conditions.
- The startup’s flagship product, the TFL-1, is a lightweight, cost-efficient module that can be installed on almost any FPV drone. It hands over control to an onboard AI during the final 500 meters of flight, dramatically boosting mission success rates. The product is actively used by Ukraine’s Armed Forces in the field and integrated into drones by over a dozen manufacturers.
- The company also manufactures the Lupynis-10-TFL-1 unmanned aerial system (UAS), available as a standalone drone or a full-scale system including up to 100 AI-enabled drones, a ground control station, and mission support gear.

Details of the deal
- As Azhnyuk told Forbes Ukraine, the funding was raised over a rolling round that began more than a year ago with backing from US-based investors. The round was structured via SAFE agreements, with contributions from Europe and North America roughly equal in share.
- Among the investors is Double Tap Investments, a Ukrainian-Finnish firm focused on dual-use and defence technologies. Azhnyuk also noted that in addition to external capital, he has personally contributed over $500,000 in cash and services to support the company’s development.
- The startup plans to use the new funds to expand its engineering, product, and QA teams, with a focus on R&D and scaling production.
