Ukrainian defence tech startup Himera, specializing in EW-protected tactical communication systems, has raised $150,000 from United Angels Network to fuel its expansion within Ukraine and abroad.
- Founded in 2022 by Mykhailo Rudominskyi amid Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Himera is focused on developing secure communication radio stations for operational awareness. The company began serial production of these devices in April 2023.
- With offices in Kyiv and Tallinn, Himera designs its handsets specifically to meet the needs of the Ukrainian defence forces. These devices feature a long-lasting battery that lasts up to 4 days, strong resistance to electronic warfare, low detection chances, and 256-bit traffic encryption for secure communications.
- In March 2024, the startup raised $525,000 from business angels to develop a new version of its product for the Ukrainian Defense Forces and to obtain government authorization within the year.
Details of the deal
- This is the second investment from United Angels Network, bringing their total support for the startup to $375,000. The network connects Ukrainian and international investors to support startups and attract foreign investment.
"This marks the second investment round from UAN members, building on the previous round of $225,000 raised in March 2024. I’m proud that we can support our country in this way. Investing in defence tech startups isn’t just an important step—it’s a meaningful contribution that’s helping to bring us closer to victory," claims Ivan Dmytrasevych, founder and CEO of Unitel Angels Network.
- The company will use the raised capital to advance its tactical communication system by developing new products and expanding its business in Ukrainian and international markets.
