Verda raises $117M to scale AI cloud infrastructure for ML workloads

Verda, which develops AI cloud infrastructure for machine learning workloads, has raised $117 million in funding led by Lifeline Ventures, with support from byFounders, Tesi, Varma, and other investors, alongside debt financing from Nordic financial institutions.

  • Founded in 2023 by Ruben Bryon, Verda is a Helsinki-based AI infrastructure company that builds cloud systems for machine learning workloads.
  • The company operates a vertically integrated platform providing GPU-based compute for training and running AI models, including clustered infrastructure, serverless inference, and managed deployment services. Users access and scale resources on demand through APIs, SDKs, and web-based tooling.
  • Verda controls its full stack, from data center hardware and networking to software layers, enabling elastic scaling of compute resources such as GPU clusters and containerized workloads. It also offers managed and custom deployment environments for production AI systems.
  • Alongside its platform, the company runs an internal research team focused on distributed training, inference optimization, and infrastructure tooling that feeds back into its production systems.

Details of the deal

  • The €117 million funding round is aimed at accelerating Verda’s growth by expanding its AI cloud infrastructure globally, entering new markets like the UK and the US, and strengthening its platform for GPU access, serverless compute, and managed AI inference.
  • It will also support product development and team expansion across engineering, AI research, and commercial roles, as the company scales its infrastructure for a future driven by instant provisioning and AI-powered compute demand.
