Sybilla Technologies lands €8M to accelerate global expansion in space monitoring

Polish firm Sybilla Technologies, which develops space situational awareness systems using a global network of optical sensors to track objects in orbit, has raised over €8 million from TCEE Fund IV, advised by 3TS Capital Partners, and Vinci, the investment arm of Poland’s development bank BGK, as Vestbee was informed.

  • Founded in 2011 by Piotr Sybilski, Sybilla Technologies develops space situational awareness systems that track and analyze objects in Earth’s orbit using a global network of robotic optical sensors.
  • The company operates around 50 ground-based optical sensors across six continents, which automatically capture and process images of the night sky to detect satellites and space debris, including objects as small as a beverage can traveling at speeds exceeding 10,000 km/h.
  • These observations are processed with proprietary software that performs astrometric and orbital calculations to determine precise positions and trajectories of more than 40,000 objects in near-Earth orbit, enabling near-continuous monitoring of up to 90% of tracked orbital objects and supporting collision avoidance, satellite safety, and space traffic management for agencies including ESA, national space authorities in Europe, and defense programs.

Details of the deal

  • The investment will enable the firm to scale its global space monitoring network, expand its sensor infrastructure, enhance its data analytics capabilities, and advance the development and deployment of orbital monitoring technologies to strengthen its position as a leader in space safety.

"We are delighted to welcome this impressive and highly ambitious company to our portfolio. We believe that by combining capital, experience and active support in organizational scaling and international expansion, we can accelerate the company’s growth and help realize its ambition of becoming a global leader in space monitoring and safety," explains Katarzyna Pac-Malesa, Investment Director at 3TS Capital Partners.
