Danish database startup KineDB has raised €850,000 in a pre-seed funding round led by Superhero Capital, with participation from NGL Ventures and angel investors Jussi Pyörre, Kristoffer Abell and Jakob Lilholm.
- Launched in 2026 by Axel Löwenhoff and Allan Zimmermann, KineDB is developing a general-purpose database that works across cloud infrastructure and local devices, including those without an internet connection.
- Its technology allows developers to manage online and offline data through a single database system, addressing the growing infrastructure needs of applications built with AI-powered development tools.
- The platform is designed for environments with limited connectivity. For example, workers in underground mines can record operational data on devices while offline and synchronise it with a central database once connectivity is restored.
Details of the deal
- The fresh capital will support product development and team expansion, particularly the recruitment of engineers specialising in databases, storage systems and query engines.
