Stockholm-based deeptech startup Kovant raises €1.5M pre-seed round

Stockholm-based firm Kovant, an autonomous enterprise platform that enables businesses to create, run, and manage entire operations and departments of AI agents, has raised €1.5 million in pre-seed funding, led by Stockholm-based VC firm J12 Ventures.

  • Launched in 2024 by Ali Sarrafi, Somil Gupta and Dror Asaf, Kovant develops a Stockholm-based enterprise platform that enables organisations to run core operations with autonomous AI agents.
  • The technology automates processes typically managed by large operational teams, including procurement, supply chain, inventory, compliance and customer-facing workflows, by using coordinated, role-specific agents capable of completing complex tasks end-to-end.
  • The platform consists of Kovant Concierge for task orchestration, Mission Control for governance and oversight, and Kovant OS, an infrastructure layer that operates within a company’s own environment to maintain data control.
  • It employs specialised small language models and strict guardrails to improve accuracy, ensure traceability and uphold enterprise compliance.
  • Once active, agents perform defined operational duties, escalate when human judgment is needed, and run continuously within the customer’s systems, enabling organisations to handle operational workload at scale while reducing the need for large internal teams.

Details of the deal

  • The pre-seed round was led by J12 Ventures, with support from Ampli, Greens Ventures, and several angel investors including Sara Öhrvall and Emmanuel Martin-Chave.
  • The fresh capital will enable the firm to scale its global footprint, enhance its novel agentic AI architecture, and empower enterprises to deploy autonomous AI workforces with speed, governance, and measurable business impact.
