Schwechat-based firm Digicust, which builds AI software to automate customs clearance, has secured a €2.3 million pre-Series A round to help accelerate product development, expand AI capabilities, and drive entry into new markets, Vestbee was told.
- Founded in 2020 by Borisav Parmakovic, Digicust is a software company developing artificial intelligence systems for automating customs clearance. Its technology is used by customs brokers, freight forwarders, and exporting companies to handle import and export filings that typically rely on manually processed documents.
- The company’s software ingests information from sources such as PDFs, emails, spreadsheets, and enterprise systems, converts it into structured data, and applies rule-based and machine-learning models to determine tariff codes, check export restrictions, and prepare regulatory documentation.
- The resulting data is then transferred into standard customs software used for filing with authorities, reducing human intervention while preserving compliance with European and international trade rules.
Details of the deal
- The pre-Series A round was supported by Jet Investment as lead investor, with participation from Look AI Ventures, existing and private investors, and backing from Austria Wirtschaftsservice (aws).
- Digicust plans to use the fresh funding to accelerate product development, expand its AI capabilities, and drive entry into new markets to scale its customs automation platform across more regions and customers.
