Bucharest-based DesignVerse has raised a $5.5 million seed round co-led by Begin Capital and Gapminder VC, with participation from Underline Ventures and strategic angels from Adobe, LSEG, UiPath, and others.
- Founded in 2023 by Andrei Manolache and Robert Dragutoiu, the company is building an AI-powered “context layer” for enterprise software development that generates production-ready applications based on a company’s existing design systems, architecture standards, and internal documentation.
- DesignVerse's platform integrates with tools such as Figma, GitHub, and modern frontend frameworks, translating design inputs and engineering rules into deployable software while reducing the gap between design and production.
- The startup claims its approach can speed up delivery by up to 65% and increase engineering output by around 3x by standardizing implementation and reducing drift between design intent and shipped code.
- Early customers include EUROCONTROL, where the company says it helped modernize a 15-year-old operational system in just over a month, compared to an estimated six months using traditional development approaches.
Details of the deal
- The new funding will be used to expand the engineering team and grow across enterprise markets in Europe and the United States, while continuing to develop its AI system-context layer for regulated and large-scale software environments.
