Depotcharge secures €2.7M to scale shared depot charging across Europe

Munich-based Depotcharge, a platform enabling logistics companies to share unused depot charging capacity for electric trucks, has raised €2.7 million in a pre-seed round led by High-Tech Gründerfonds (HTGF), with participation from xdeck Ventures, Kopa Ventures, and Prequel Ventures.

  • Founded in 2024 by Joscha Specks and Julius Wilhelm, Depotcharge operates a platform that connects unused charging capacity at logistics depots with other fleets. Depot operators can set their own pricing, availability, and access conditions, while Depotcharge manages access control, invoicing, and payments.
  • The company has also partnered with the Bundesverband Güterkraftverkehr Logistik und Entsorgung (BGL e.V.) to launch BGL Charge, a shared depot charging network for Germany’s road freight sector.
  • The network will connect charging infrastructure from BGL member companies, allowing participating logistics fleets to access additional charging locations.
  • E.L.V.I.S. AG, which represents more than 250 partner companies across over 350 locations, is also joining the initiative. Its network will be connected to BGL Charge, expanding the charging infrastructure available to participating logistics companies.

Details of the deal

  • With the fresh capital, Depotcharge plans to further develop its platform, expand internationally, and integrate charging more closely with transport dispatch operations through reservations, open interfaces, and connections with existing transport management systems.
