Swedish VC firm Creadum leads $19M seed round in Hosted.ai to supercharge GPU efficiency

San Jose-based B2B enterprise software startup Hosted.ai, which focuses on AI infrastructure and cloud computing, has raised a $19 million in a seed funding round led by Creadum, with support from People Ventures and Repeat Ventures.

  • Established in 2023 by Ditlev B., Julian Chesterfield, James Withall, and Narendar S., Hosted.ai develops software for AI cloud service providers that enables GPU virtualization and multi-tenant sharing.
  • The platform allows multiple AI workloads to run on the same GPU simultaneously, dynamically allocating memory and compute resources in real time. Operators can create GPU pools, assign workloads, and overcommit resources without performance loss, increasing overall GPU utilization.
  • The system integrates with billing and management tools, supporting both private and shared GPU infrastructures, and is designed to reduce capital expenditure while improving efficiency for GPU cloud operators.

Details of the deal

  • The $19 million seed round will let Hosted.ai expand its GPU virtualization technology, allowing multiple AI workloads to share the same GPU, increase hardware efficiency, and reduce wasted compute for operators.

"What makes us so excited is that the team has built this business twice before. The founders have worked together for 15 years, building through the dotcom era, then the cloud, and now into the neocloud era," Creadum's team, commented on LinkedIn.
