Spain’s firm Anyformat secures €3.3M to scale agentic OCR and redefine document intelligence

Madrid-based startup Anyformat, which uses AI to convert complex documents into structured data, has secured €3.3 million in a seed round backed by Kibo Ventures, alongside returning investors 4Founders Capital, Abac Nest Ventures, and Decelera Ventures.

  • Founded in 2024 by Juan Huguet and Diego Pérez, Anyformat builds software that turns unstructured documents into structured, reliable data for enterprise workflows. The company develops an agentic processing system that combines computer vision, layout interpretation and large language models to analyse files such as invoices, contracts or reports and extract the information they contain with high precision.
  • The platform incorporates uncertainty detection, human review where needed and full audit trails, aiming to make document operations traceable and accurate. It also provides a visual workflow builder that lets teams design and run document pipelines, such as classification, parsing or validation, without writing code. Data is processed within a privacy-first environment designed to meet European data-sovereignty requirements.

Details of the deal

  • Anyformat will use the fresh €3.3 million in funding to expand its engineering and product teams, accelerate development of its agentic OCR technology, and build more advanced extraction and proprietary error-detection models. The company will also invest heavily in strengthening its privacy-first, data-sovereignty infrastructure, including progress toward certifications such as ISO 27001.
  • Additionally, the funding will support its commercial expansion across Europe, enabling more automation, compliance and complex document-processing use cases as the firm works toward surpassing €1 million in ARR in 2026.

“The vision and talent of the founders, whom we know from their time at Clarity.ai, a company also invested in by Kibo Ventures, combined with the possibilities offered by AI in a huge market, were key factors in our decision to invest,” claims Javier Torremocha, co-founder and Managing Partner of Kibo Ventures.
