New VC Funds
- Index Ventures raises its next $300M seed fund to invest across sectors and industries. The firm will primarily focus on the US and Europe but is open to investing in other geographies as well.
- Munich-based Vsquared Ventures raises its new, €165M early-stage fund. The firm will focus on backing European startups in areas such as AI & robotics, new computing & sensing, new space, energy transition, next-gen data processing but will generally consider any deep tech startup.
- Ukrainian VC GR Capital announces the first €30M closing of its new, €100M fund. The firm will back early growth to C-round European startups across fintech, proptech, mobility, health tech, and the future of work.
- Non-dilutive VC Round2 Capital raises its second, €100M fund to support growth stage software businesses.
- The PureTerra Ventures debuts a €60M fund. The firm will focus on European innovation seeking to increase water availability and/or quality.
- Atomico's angel investor Stefano Bernardi raises his own debut fund Unruly Capital. The fund will back early-stage companies across the globe and will invest around €250k in each of its portfolio companies.
- An Estonian fund to invest in female-found startups The Better Fund announces the beginning of its investment activities. The firm will seek to invest in CEE companies across sectors but with an especial focus to wellness, environmental, education-centred ventures and emerging tech/platforms.
CEE Startup Funding Rounds & Acquisitions
- Design-to-code startup Supernova picks up a $4.8M seed round to fund its growth efforts. The round was led by Wing Venture Capital and followed by EQT Ventures, Kaya VC and a number of busines angels.
- Employee benefits platform Re:benefit raises €1.2M to invest in product development and market expansion. The round was led by Vitosha Venture Partners and joined by New Vision 3 and Impetus Capital.
- Accounting automaton fintech Digitoo gets €1.1M in funding for product development. The round was co-led by Nation1 and Kaya VC, while the rest was raised through a crowd investment platform Crowdberry.
- Polish VC Carlson ASI Evig Alfa announces an investments in 3 new startups: a horse-care platform Equinity Solutions, an ulcer monitoring and analysis platform PUMaA System, as well as a task-analytics company Tasklytics. The size of transactions remains undisclosed.
Startup Calls
- CEE startup conference Untold Stories invites participants to join the event between 29th and 30th of November in Budapest. The event will see many regional startups, investors and other players from the tech ecosystem as well as a dedicated pitching competition.
- Polish Ukrainian Israeli Innovation Summit invites people to join its event on the 14th of December. The participants will present various topics on current and near-term future topics for Ukraine's tech and give all income from the event to local charities.
- Women in Agrifood Summit run by EIT Food invites people to join both offline and online pitching for session of the Empowering Women in Agrifood initiative. The event will take place on 1st of December in Bilbao (and/or online).
