New VC Funds
- Paris-based Alven closes its sixth €350M fund to continue backing early-stage startups throughout Europe. The fund will consider proposals coming from any sector or industry and will put anywhere from €100k to €15M.
- Bosch VC announces its fifth €250M fund. The firm will continue investing in deep tech globally while putting an emphasis on series A - B stages and offering up to €25M in funding.
- Polish AIP Seed raises a €25M fund to back CEE-based startups. The firm will invest up to €250k across sectors and industries. The AIP’s team plans to back around 30 companies each year!
- The largest crypto exchange Binance raises $500M venture arm for Web3. The Binance Labs will back projects at all stages of their development and all over the globe.
- Another Web 3 investor unveiling the next fund, Fabric Ventures closes an oversubscribed $140 million venture vehicle. The firm will back startups in their pre-ideation and up to a scaling phase with $100k to $10M.
- All Iron closes its first-ever fund-of-funds to back European VC managers. The €30M firm plans to back around 15 established managers across the continent.
CEE Startup Funding Rounds & Acquisitions
- Serbian creative ads platform Hunch picks up a €4M round to expand its revenue team and scale in Europe and the US. The round was led by Catalyst Romania and joined by Euroventures, North Base Media, SeedBlink and South Central Ventures
- Bulgarian digital twins platform MYX brings home €3.5M in funding to continue expanding its telecom service across the EU and the US. The round was led by Connect44 and joined by the team’s early investor New Vision 3.
- Polish industrial infrastructure cybersecurity startup ICsec receives an investment to further cement its presence in its home market. The funding was made by Orlen V.
- Belaruso-Ukrainian startup Yope (Salo) picks a $2M bridge round required to launch fully launch the app. The investment was made by Horizon Capital, TA Ventures, iClub, Kolos Ventures, Geek Ventures, Vesna VC and hi5 Ventures.
- Polish Credit Bureau has acquired a local cybertech startup Digital Fingerprints. The transaction was made by a previous owner of mAccelerator and the size of it remains undisclosed.
- Crypto education app for children Strive gets a €100k pre-seed ticket and graduates from Demiums’s incubation program.
Startup Calls
- Polish Development fund PFR starts accepting applications for its 5th edition of their “Pioneer school”. The applications are open to aspiring healthtech and climatetech teams as well as individuals from Poland. They can apply here until the 30th of June.
- The Black Sea ClimAccelerator opened applications for its 2022 edition. If accepted, startups will receive up to €300k in grants as well as mentorship, access to experts’ network and more. The program is open for Bulgarian and Romanian climatech startups and the applications are open until the 24th of July.
- Outlier Ventures base camp for Web3 is soon to close applications for its launchpad program. Every team building within the web3 around the globe is eligible and you can apply for the program till the 12th of June.
- Unchain Fintech & Blockchain Festival is inviting CEE-based startups to join its event in Oradea, Romania. If end up receiving an invitiation, teams may get to connect with large corporate and private investors, gain visibility and receive feedback for the business ideas. The applications are open till the 15th of June.
