New VC Funds
- German Project A Ventures has closed its next $375M fund to back early-stage startups across Europe. The firm will focus on fintech, commerce, enterprise software, data infrastructure, supply chain and climate tech.
- Austrian 3VC announces its 2nd fund to keep funding European Series A startups. As previously, the firm will back B2B/B2C software businesses.
- Tallinn-based VC Superangel unravels its second €50M fund. The firm will focus on deep tech startups from Nordics and Baltics.
- A web3 gaming company Immutable kickstarts a $500M fund. The firm will back web3 games and NFT-focused companies built on its proprietary platform Immutable X.
CEE Startup Funding Rounds & Acquisitions
- Sixth Ukrainian unicorn: a workflow automation startup Airslate, picks up $51.5M at $1.25bn valuation. The round was led by the G Squared and joined by the recently unveiled UiPath’s venture arm.
- Czech grocery delivery startup Rohlik raises €220M series D round to finance its further development and expansion. The round was led by its existing investors Index Ventures and the company’s CEO Tomáš Čupr.
- Estonian NFT infrastructure and API platform NFTPort raises a $26M series A. The round was led by Taavet + Sten, Atomico and Protocol Labs and saw participation from Sparkle Ventures, IDEO CoLab Ventures and a number of angel investors.
- Polish High-speed railway developer Nevomo receives €2.5M to further develop its product. The funding was made by EIC Accelerator
- Polish Grupa Pracuj acquires German TA platform softgarden in a $125M transaction. The purchase was made to facilitate the group’s expansion into DACH and Germany in particular.
- Lithuanian vertical farm startup Leafood gets a €6.45M to build its first network of farms across the Baltics and Poland. The funding was made by Niels Peter Pretszmann and the Senatoria Pasazas.
- Geospatial marketing SaaS Roibox picks up a €2M round to further develop its product. The investment was made by Blacksheep Ventures.
Embedded finance platform for eCommerce Lemonero bags €12M to develop new products and expand across West and Eastern Europe. The investment was made by Komerční banka. - Polish Silvertech for physically active seniors Klub Aktywnych raises an undisclosed round. The round was lad by Medi Ventures.
Startup Calls
AWS and Vestbee team up in launching a AWS FinTech Accelerator for UKIR startups including those looking to relocate and/or expand there. The applications are open for seed to series A startups building a startup around finance-enabling innovation. You can apply till the 22nd of July.
