German proptech startup Lumoview raises €3M to drive building stock transformation

Berlin and Cologne-based startup Lumoview Building Analytics, which automates building data capture for energy-efficient renovations, has raised €3 million, bringing its total funding to over €5.5 million.

  • Founded in 2019 by Bernhard Hoffschmidt, Arne Tiddens, and Silvan Siegrist as a spin-off of the German Aerospace Center (DLR), Lumoview Building Analytics  develops technology for the rapid and automated digital capture of building data.
  • The company has adapted imaging and sensor technologies originally developed for energy research and space exploration to address challenges in the building sector.
  • Its core innovation is a proprietary mobile scanner that captures room data, including floor plans, thermal images, and 3D models, in just two seconds per scan.
  •  The captured data is then automatically processed using cloud-based software and made accessible in standard digital formats commonly used in architecture and engineering.
  • With 34 employees, Lumoview focuses on streamlining building analysis to support energy consulting, renovation planning, and digital inventory management.
  • In 2024, the firm secured a €2.5 million EIC Accelerator grant to speed up the transition to energy-efficient, sustainable buildings.

Details of the deal

  • The investment came from Greencode Ventures, a pan-European VC firm investing in early-stage digital solutions that drive green transformation across energy, mobility, industry, and infrastructure.

"With its unique combination of hardware and software, Lumoview offers a scalable solution for the urgently needed digitalization and decarbonization of the building stock," Managing Partner at Greencode Ventures, Ines Bergmann-Nolting, commented.

  • IBB Ventures and WakeUp Capital, alongside existing business angels and family offices.
  • Lumoview will use the fresh €3 million VC funding, together with the €2.5 million EIC Accelerator grant, to further automate its building data technology, expand its team, and accelerate growth across Germany and Europe.
  • Additionally, the funding will support the development of its digital platform to provide faster, high-quality data for energy-efficient renovations, contributing to the urgent transition to sustainable buildings and a significant reduction in CO₂ emissions.

"This massive funding will enable us to significantly strengthen our team, further automate our solution, and roll it out across Europe. This will create the digital foundation to implement renovations significantly more efficiently – and make a scalable contribution to greater sustainability in the building sector," claims Silvan Siegrist, Managing Director and co-founder of Lumoview.
