Berlin-based learning platform Knowunity has secured €27 million in a Series B funding round, bringing its total funding to €45 million, which will be used to further advance its global AI-powered learning companion.
- Knowunity was founded in 2020 by Benedict Kurz , Lucas Hild, Gregor Weber, and Yannik Prigl. The firm develops an AI-powered learning companion designed to provide personalized, accessible education for students worldwide.
- Through its mobile app, Knowunity offers features like student-generated study notes, quizzes, flashcards, and a custom AI assistant called SchoolGPT that helps explain academic topics, answer questions, and support revision.
- The platform personalizes learning based on each student’s needs and progress, using proprietary data and AI algorithms to continuously adapt and improve the experience. Students can also contribute their content, creating a global peer-to-peer learning community.

- Knowunity's €27 million Series B round is led by XAnge, with participation from Project A, Redalpine, Educapital, Stride.VC, and notable angels including Verena Pausder, Kirill Bigai, and Philipp Man.
- The fresh capital will be invested in advancing Knowunity’s AI technology, scaling its personalized learning platform globally, focusing on the US and Asian markets, and expanding the team to accelerate product development, growth, and international expansion.
- Additionally, this funding will help the startup enhance its AI tutor, increase user engagement, and move closer to its goal of providing personalized education to 1 billion students worldwide.
