Paris-based medtech startup Klineo has raised €2 million from Bpifrance and angel investors. The investment will enable Klineo to improve access to clinical trials for cancer patients and expand to other European countries and the US.
- Dr. Arnaud Bayle, Gustave Roussy, Thomas Peyresblanques, Nicolas Drizard, and Soha Tohidi co-founded Klineo in 2021. The startup develops a platform that helps patients find clinical trials and new therapeutic options in France and immediately contact the centers that are conducting them, as well as provide real-time updates and notifications for each new match of a new clinical trial.
- In 2022, Klineo launched a pilot project focusing on triple-negative breast cancer in collaboration with the patient association Collectif Triplettes Roses. This initiative was supported by several companies, including the Pfizer Healthcare Hub, WILCO Healthcare, Onconumérique, LYSARC, PariSanté Campus, and Unicancer.
Details of the deal
- The investment in Klineo was backed by Bpifrance, a public investment bank founded in 2013. Bpifrance specializes in funding French micro-businesses and medium-sized companies. The round also saw participation from unnamed business angels.
“Thanks to this first fundraising and the support of our investors, we will be able to speed up the development of our platform and extend it to all types of cancer. Patients and doctors will thus have access to the simplest and fastest way of finding therapeutic innovations,” the Klineo team commented on LinkedIn.
The capital will help Klineo to scale in Europe and the US, grow its team, expand services to cover all cancer clinical trials in France with a focus on lung cancer, and further develop its platform.
