Finland's foodtech Foodiq secures €10M to expand globally

Finland-based foodtech company Foodiq has secured €10 million in funding to support its global expansion and scale the reach of its proprietary Multi-Layer Cooker (MLC).

  • Founded in 2015 by Robert Savikko and Jani Uusi-Ristaniemi, Foodiq develops and supplies the Multi-Layer Cooker (MLC), a modular food manufacturing unit designed to support localized and sustainable production.
  • The MLC combines functions such as mixing, pasteurization, and emulsification into a single system, allowing producers to manufacture various products, including dairy, plant-based foods, baby food, beverages, and sauces, using different raw materials.
  • Foodiq works with clients through setup, training, product development, and scaling, providing a system that consolidates processes typically handled by multiple machines.

Details of the deal

  • Foodiq will use the €10 million funding to scale its Multi-Layer Cooker (MLC) technology and expand into international markets, with a focus on the dairy and alternative protein sectors.
  • The investment will also support the development of localized production hubs, increase manufacturing capacity, and enable faster R&D for new product formulations.

“This raise is a strong vote of confidence in our vision and business model. We’re proud to remain fully focused on food tech, where innovation, sustainability, and scalability meet. With this funding, we’re ready to bring our technology to the world stage and help build a smarter, cleaner, and more local food future," claims Robert Savikko, CEO and Co-founder of Foodiq.
