Ukrainian venture capital firm Flyer One Ventures has raised a €50 million Fund V, supported by the International Finance Corporation (IFC) and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), as Vestbee was told.
- Founded in 2018 by Vital Laptenok, Oleksii Yermolenko, and Olena Mazhuha, Flyer One Ventures (F1V) is an early-stage venture capital firm that works with founders from CEE focused on building global software companies.
- The firm invests up to $1.5 million in software startups at the pre-seed and seed stages. It has invested nearly $45 million across more than 90 startups and had two exits: VOCHI, acquired by Pinterest, and Greenscreens, acquired by Triumph Financial.
- F1V’s portfolio features Fintech Farm, a developer of neobanks for emerging markets; Liki24, which optimizes last-mile delivery of health products; Jome, an AI-driven platform that streamlines the home-buying process; and Mate Academy, which provides tech training for global employment opportunities.
- The new Fund V will concentrate on early-stage tech companies in Ukraine and the CEE. In addition to funding, F1V offers practical support in marketing, hiring, PR, business development, and fundraising.
“Founders across CEE, and Ukrainians in particular, have already shown they can build world-class products under the hardest conditions. With this new fund we can double-down on the next wave and help them scale globally faster," claims Oleksii Yermolenko, co-founder and partner at F1V.
- The new €50 million Fund V is supported by the International Finance Corporation (IFC), which has committed €5 million, including up to $3 million from Japan through its Economic Resilience Action (ERA) Program.
Additionally, the fund saw backing by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), which has pledged €6.5 million, with the potential to increase to €10 million.
