CEE Startup Challenge VIII - TOP 10 Companies From Central & Eastern Europe

We're excited to announce the winners of the 8th edition of our CEE Startup Challenge - the largest startup challenge across Central and Eastern Europe to provide companies with a chance of being recognised among global VC funds, getting funded and obtaining special business deals.

After long deliberations and jury work, our experts from various venture and tech organizations like Next Road Ventures, Credo Ventures, Northzone, Molten Ventures, 500 Emerging Europe and many others, have chosen 10 forerunners that outstanded from many applicants.

So, without further ado, let's look at the Top 10 startups from CEE and find out what they're all about! 

nista.io

The winner of this year’s edition of the CEE Startup Challenge, nista.io is an energy efficiency platform for industrial SMBs. The problem the company address is the very pressing demand put by skyrocketing energy prices, environmental deterioration and the resulting need to manage resources more humbly and efficiently. To help companies do so, nista.io analyzes and models the energy expenditure through the platform and then augments the AI assessment with the help of the company's energy experts who're available for personalized consultation on the topics of energy consumption. As a consequence, the users of nista.io can save both money and the environment!

Supliful

Holder of the 2nd place, Supliful is a software infrastructure startup helping its clients launch CPG brands. The problem company alleviates is the costly and time-consuming nature of attempting to launch one's own food or wellness brands so popular nowadays among a growing segment of digital incluencers. To help address that, Supliful helps establish a brand in one day and 0 upfront capital by streamlining all aspects of launching and managing a CPG company. As a result, the influencers can make extra money while focusing on the things they're truly passionate about!

Elai.io

Thirs place went to Elai.io - an AI video generation platform for creating video content narrated by synthetic humans. Using Elai.io, companies can avoid spending large sums of money and countless hours on creating and editing educational or promo videos by synthesizing both audio and visual parts of the video. As a result, it takes much less effort and money to educate your employees or advertise your products through video.

Mifundo

Next on our selection, Mifundo is a pan-European platform helping to get credit products across the whole EU. The key issue company is tackling is the difficulty of obtaining cross-border lending from a different country and as a result - the need to rely on suboptimal selection presented in each individual country. With Mifundo, banks can now make an easy, AI-based credit analysis, cross-border risk profile match it with the bank's risk profile, which in turn democratizes and improves the array of potential lending products for the end user. 

Amano

The forthcoming name on our list, Amano is a marketplace for local and D2C brands. The core issues the company is working on are the low discoverability and oftentimes below-optimal buyer experience around returns policy, mobile UX and limited product selection. To help mitigate that, Amano provides a marketplace for local shops and brands, discovery-optimized algorithms and an easy checkout process. Consequently, the app helps connect both customers and brands in a more pleasant and streamlined way.


Redstone Finance

Redstone Finance is a cross-chain oracle platform offering access to data and a secure dispute resolution mechanism. The key issue company is working on is that of using costly and time-consuming blockchain data infrastructure. To help alleviate that, the company has scaled an Arweave storage infrastructure while connecting it to an insurance-backed decentralized dispute mechanism in case of RedStone providing inaccurate information. As a result, the startup can support running oracle queries with intervals of less than 10 seconds and give a fully auditable historical audit of information that is affordable and fully decentralized in its nature. 

Worldee

The next on the list, Worldee is a marketplace for travel experiences. With Worldee, travelers can find a truly unique travel experience created or led by an experienced guide or other traveler. As a result the people can avoid hoops and lengthy planning in trying to pick up a roadmap for their trip while avoiding costly and (mostly) generic travel agency offers. 

Ani Biome

Ani Biome is a metabolic health startup offering customized packages of fermented microblends. The key problem company is tackling is that of high inflammation resulting in non-communicable diseases and premature aging or loss of health. To help alleviate that, Ani Biome offers a suite of continuous health assesments and based on them- a customized packs of microblends aimted at reducing the inflammation. As a result, the customers can easily track and support their metabolic health and consequently increase wellbeing and strengthen general health. 

WeBoard

The next on the selection, WeBoard is a comprehensive corporate training platform based onconversational AI bots. The problem that the company tackles is the lack of real-time practice in customer-facing departments leading to lower customer satisfaction and a steeper learning curve for the corporate specialists. With WeBoard, the employees can simulate real-world scenarios and practice long before encountering a similar situation in their professional setting. As a result, the employees come to work much more prepared and productive for what may come in their work.

datuum.ai

Last but not least, datuum.ai is a no-code platform for data integration tasks. The key issue the startup address is repetitive data processing and integration tasks that drain energy and time of the ever-growing data analytics specialsits. With datuum.ai, companies can reduce the time and costs of data projects up to 80%, leaving more time and resources for truly creative and intellectually rewarding work.
