Polish Asynchronics secures pre-seed funding from Sunfish Partners and HEARTFELT_

Warsaw-based Asynchronics, which builds open-source tools for simulating complex systems, has secured undisclosed pre-seed funding to accelerate development of a digital-twin marketplace for the space industry.

  • Founded in 2022 by Serge Barral and Adam Chikha, Asynchronics is a company that develops simulation software for spacecraft and other complex systems.
  • The firm's main product, NeXosim, is an open-source simulator that creates detailed digital models, known as digital twins, of spacecraft components. These models allow engineers to test and validate systems virtually before physical prototypes are built or launched.
  • Asynchronics is working on a digital-twin marketplace where certified models of satellite parts can be shared and used by engineers and developers. This marketplace aims to simplify and speed up the development process by providing ready-made, high-fidelity models that can be integrated into simulations quickly.
  • The company’s approach focuses on reducing reliance on slow and costly traditional testing methods by moving as much validation as possible into the digital realm.

Details of the deal

  • The investment was co-led by Sunfish Partners, a Berlin- and Warsaw-based fund that invests in pre-seed deep-tech companies from the CEE region, focusing on space and defense, along with early-stage investor HEARTFELT_.

“Asynchronics is building the essential infrastructure for the next generation of space technology. Their open-source approach with NeXosim, combined with the power of Rust, is exactly what the industry needs to move faster and more collaboratively. We are thrilled to support Serge, Adam, and their team as they build a category-defining company," claims Max Moldenhauer, Managing Partner at Sunfish Partners.

  • With this pre-seed round, Asynchronics will expand its engineering staff, enhance NeXosim’s capabilities, and onboard an initial cohort of hardware manufacturers and model developers ahead of the marketplace launch.

This investment is the fuel that allows us to execute our vision. We’re scaling the team right now and targeting a public release of the marketplace in Q3 2025. Engineers will be able to select certified models, drop them into NeXosim and start running mission-critical scenarios in minutes," COO of Asynchronics, Adam Chikha, commented.
