London-based energy technology startup Veridue has raised $4 million in pre-seed funding led by Episode 1 Ventures, with participation from High-Tech Gründerfonds (HTGF) and Pi Labs.
- Founded in 2024 by Daniel Csonth and Xander van den Eelaart, Veridue develops software for energy infrastructure transactions, covering processes from deal sourcing and screening through due diligence and transaction preparation.
- The company operates in a market where renewable energy and data center projects are facing growing demand for capital, while transactions are becoming increasingly complex. Longer grid connection queues, planning constraints, hybrid projects combining generation with battery storage, and changing revenue models are making it harder for investors to assess assets and identify viable opportunities.
- Veridue's platform brings deal screening, pipeline management, virtual data rooms, Q&A, due diligence, and investment committee materials into one workflow. For investors, independent power producers, lenders, and insurers, it provides deal recommendations based on investment criteria and analysis of factors such as project maturity. The company says parts of the diligence process that traditionally take weeks can be completed within hours.
“We built Veridue as the solution we wished we had when we were the ones carrying the risk on a decision. It is not simply a chatbot pointed at a data room. It is AI trained on a proprietary dataset of real deals and their diligence outcomes, running on our own purpose-built agent layer to ensure results are deterministic with 100% traceable accuracy," explains Daniel Csonth, CEO and Founder of Veridue.
- The fresh capital will be used to expand and roll out Veridue’s platform to investors, IPPs, developers, lenders, and insurers involved in energy infrastructure transactions.
