Danish AI startup Velatir, which develops AI infrastructure for European companies, has raised €1.2 million in pre-seed funding in a round led by Ugly Duckling Ventures, with participation from Norrsken Evolve and support from the European Investment Fund, as Vestbee was informed.
- Established in 2023 by Michael Blicher Sørensen, Elias Sørensen, Christian Møller, and Andreas Paulli, Velatir develops AI infrastructure that adds human review to AI actions for European companies.
- The platform monitors and maps AI usage across an organization, routes sensitive or high-risk requests to designated reviewers, and logs approvals and decisions to maintain compliance and accountability.
- It integrates with common workplace tools such as Slack, Teams, and email, enabling teams to pause, review, and approve AI-driven actions in real time, while maintaining full visibility into data flows, usage, and operational risk.
Details of the deal
- The fresh capital will be used to further develop Velatir’s AI governance platform, expand the team, and accelerate sales efforts in Denmark and across the rest of Europe, supporting the company’s ambition to scale a European AI infrastructure that gives organizations greater visibility, control, and confidence as AI adoption grows.
"We invest in the infrastructure of tomorrow and that requires an AI ecosystem built on trust. By prioritizing transparency and traceability, Velatir is turning the challenge of AI accountability into a massive opportunity for European leadership. They are exactly the kind of founders we look for: those building the resilient and sustainable future Europe needs," claims Johan Attby, General Partner at Norrsken Evolve.
