Fintech firm Model ML raises $75M Series A funding round

London- and New York-based fintech firm Model ML, which develops AI automation tools for the financial services industry, has raised $75 million in a Series A funding round led by FT Partners.

  • Established in 2022 by Chaz and Arnie Englander, Model ML is a London and New York-based technology company that develops AI automation tools for the financial services industry. The firm’s platform integrates with existing workflows to help financial teams automate repetitive tasks such as compiling pitch decks, diligence reports, and investment memos.
  • Using data from trusted sources within a company, Model ML’s system generates customized outputs for each client, enabling faster and more accurate document preparation. Its technology is currently used by major banks, asset managers, and consultancies, including two of the Big Four accounting firms.
  • The platform allows firms to create bespoke AI “agents” that extract, process, and verify data, reducing manual work while supporting more efficient analysis and decision-making.

Details of the deal

  • The $75 million Series A round was led by FT Partners, a boutique investment bank that supports companies in the financial technology sector with strategic and financial advisory services.
  • The round also saw participation from Y Combinator, QED Investors, 13Books Capital, Latitude, and LocalGlobe.
  • Model ML plans to use the $75 million in fresh funding to propel global expansion and enhance its AI capabilities across key financial hubs. This includes scaling its platform to serve more financial services clients and improving its AI tools that automate tasks like compiling pitch decks, diligence reports, and investment memos.

"That's why we built Model ML. Our agents reason across data sources, write the code to extract and transform what's needed, and generate finished, branded outputs with verification built in. We're eliminating the grunt work so teams can focus on the analysis that actually matters," claims Chaz Englander, co-founder of Model ML.
