Ghent-based constructiontech startup Spotable, which develops software for measuring buildings and streamlining quotes, has raised €4 million in a seed round arranged by The Harbour, with participation from Jonas Dhaenens of team.blue, Christophe Morbee of NewSchool.vc, the family office of Hilde Cloostermans and Philip Corens, and Arne Vandendriessche.
- Founded in 2024 by Sebastien Vandendriessche, Julie Dumoulin, and Pieter-Jan Philips, Spotable initially developed software for roofing companies to automate measuring and quoting.
- The company launched its first version three months after its founding and began commercial sales a year later.
- Spotable uses geographic data and AI to digitally measure buildings based on an address and create 3D representations.
- Its platform then calculates material requirements, links products with prices, generates quotes, and supports contractors through the ordering process.
- The company has since expanded beyond roofing to connect contractors with distributors and building-material manufacturers. Contractors can use the platform to prepare measurements and quotes, while distributors and manufacturers can integrate their product ranges and pricing.
Details of the deal
- With the fresh capital, Spotable plans to further develop its platform and accelerate international expansion. Following its growth in Belgium and the Netherlands, the company is targeting France and Germany, where it plans to onboard more construction companies and establish partnerships with distributors and manufacturers.
- Spotable is also expanding into the US, where it has already tested its technology at trade fairs and established its first commercial presence.
