Romanian AI startup Kyndred has raised €500,000 in a pre-seed round led by Early Game Ventures, as Vestbee was informed.
- Founded in 2026 by Rareș Moșescu and Alex Băraru, Kyndred develops AI companions designed to interact with users through real-time voice, animation, and memory.
- Its technology combines generative Live2D animation, emotion-aware voice, and tiered memory to create AI characters that can maintain context across interactions.
- The startup’s flagship AI companion, Maya, is available across iOS, Android, and desktop. On PC, the character can run alongside other applications while users work, study, or play.
Details of the deal
- Early Game Ventures is a Romanian venture capital firm backed by the European Investment Fund’s Recovery Equity Fund and financed through Romania’s National Recovery and Resilience Plan under NextGenerationEU.
- The company aims to further develop Maya, create additional AI companions, expand its customer base, and grow the team. Kyndred is currently hiring for AI Engineer and Product Engineer roles.
