Milan-based venture capital firm Italian Founders Fund has closed a €90 million fund to invest in Italian seed and pre-seed startups, focusing on supporting the country’s emerging talent and digital innovation.
- Italian Founders Fund (IFF), managed by Koinos Capital SGR and led by Lorenzo Franzi, a former Global Founders Capital partner, invests in founders with Italian roots, aiming to grow their startups internationally. Recently, Irene Mingozzi has been appointed Partner at IFF.
- The firm leads pre-seed and seed rounds with conviction, providing active support, strategic partnerships, founder-friendly terms, help with commercial expansion, and transparency.
- Over the past two years, the firm invested in 14 startups across Italy, the UK, the US, and Singapore, backing founders and co-investing with funds like Base10, Picus Capital, Balderton, Dutch Founders Fund, KFund, and Y Combinator.
- The plan to complete 25 investments, with initial checks between €500,000 and €1.5 million, plus follow-on funding up to €2.5 million, was outlined at the first €50 million close and continues as the fund expands to €90 million.
