Swedish deep-tech startup GigaScan Technologies has raised €2.1 million in funding from Jet Investment through its Jet Venture 1 fund, as Vestbee was informed.
- Founded by Patrik Folkesson, GigaScan develops 3D optical inspection and metrology systems that enable manufacturers to inspect complex parts directly on production lines.
- Its technology creates detailed 3D digital models capturing a part’s geometry, color, and surface characteristics without requiring markers, spray coatings, or controlled environments.
- GigaScan serves industrial customers across the automotive, energy, aerospace, and precision engineering sectors, with its technology already deployed in continuous production environments.
- The company aims to address the trade-off between fast but limited camera-based inspection and precise but slower offline measurement by bringing detailed 3D inspection directly to the production line.
- GigaScan’s technology has a track record of long-term industrial operation, including a system installed in 2015 that has operated continuously with a reported 99.8% availability rate.
Details of the deal
- The company will use the funding to expand its development team, scale production and supply capabilities, grow commercial activities, strengthen its patent portfolio, and finance working capital.
- The investment will also support GigaScan’s transition to repeatable mass production and larger-scale industrial deployments.
“What was decisive for us was not only the quality of the technology, but also its proven track record in long term industrial operation and the team’s ambition to move toward repeatable mass production. This is precisely where Jet Investment can contribute significant industrial expertise alongside capital,” claims Kamil Levinský, CEO of Jet Venture 1.
