Furo lands $4M to build an operating system for industrial battery storage

Munich-based Furo, a software company developing an operating system for commercial and industrial battery storage, has raised $4 million in a funding round led by TQ Ventures, with participation from Neo, Sandberg Bernthal Venture Partners, and CDTM Venture Capital.

  • Founded in 2025 as Lumera Energy by Lena Sophia Voß, Leonie Wagner, and Simon Wittner, Furo rebranded in May 2026. The company develops software that helps businesses plan, operate, and trade energy through battery storage systems.
  • Its platform forecasts electricity prices and weather up to 48 hours ahead and uses this data to optimize when batteries charge, discharge, or sell excess capacity in energy markets.
  • The company said more than 800 companies use its platform across over 6,000 sites in Germany and Europe.

Details of the deal

  • With the fresh capital, the firm aims to further develop its software, expand into additional European markets, and grow its team.
