UK‑based firm Ben secures $27.5M to transform enterprise employee benefits with AI

UK‑based firm Ben, which provides an AI platform to simplify employee benefits and HR management, has secured $27.5 million in a Series B funding round led by Mercia Ventures, with support from Atomico, Cherry Ventures, DN Capital, Seedcamp, and QuantumLight Capital.

  • Ben was founded in 2019 by Sebastian Fallert and David Duckworth to tackle long-standing challenges in enterprise employee benefits. The firm develops an AI-powered platform that helps employees understand and navigate their benefits while automating administrative tasks for HR teams and providing real-time insights for leadership.
  • The platform works by analyzing complex eligibility rules, statutory requirements, and policy documents, delivering personalized guidance, answering employee queries, and suggesting benefits tailored to individual needs and life events.
  • For HR and finance teams, it streamlines workflows, reduces errors, and consolidates data across multiple countries, enabling more efficient management of benefits programs. Leadership teams gain analytics on employee usage and engagement, supporting smarter investment and recognition decisions.

Details of the deal

  • Ben will use the $27.5 million funding to accelerate its global expansion and enhance its AI-driven benefits platform. The investment will support the development of new features that simplify benefits management for employees, HR teams, and leadership, while also enabling the company to enter new regions and industries.
  •  Ben also aims to make employee benefits easier to access, understand, and utilize, helping organizations deliver greater value with less operational complexity.

“Employee benefits are a huge expense for businesses but the current infrastructure is broken. Ben’s platform brings together employers, employees, brokers and providers to create an intelligent network that delivers value for everyone. The company is growing fast and winning against the big incumbents, and this investment will help to establish Ben as the ultimate platform for modern employee benefit management. We’re very excited to be working with Seb, David and the rest of the team, alongside Atomico, Cherry Ventures, DN Capital, QuantumLight and Seedcamp," claims Jonathan Kruger of Mercia Ventures.
