Belgium-based legaltech Alice, which provides an AI platform managing the full workflow of legal casework from research to court-ready documents, has raised €1 million in pre-seed funding led by NewSchool and Seeder Fund, with participation from a group of Belgian angel investors, as Vestbee was informed.
- Founded in 2025 by lawyers Jeroen Villé and Armin Wintein, Alice provides an integrated workflow for legal casework. The platform is designed to guide lawyers through each stage of a case, from analyzing documents and researching legal principles to drafting arguments and preparing court-ready documents.
- Unlike standalone AI tools, Alice connects each step in a continuous process, ensuring that outputs are verified, traceable, and remain under human control. The system is currently in use at over 60 law firms in Belgium and is built to support the full lifecycle of legal work while maintaining professional accountability and compliance with courtroom standards.
"We are convinced that AI will only have a lasting place in legal practice if lawyers can fully trust it and when it covers all aspects of a case. Alice is built to help legal teams work faster and more consistently, without the risks of hallucinations and without losing control over their cases," claims Jeroen Villé, co-founder and CEO of Alice.
Details of the deal
- Alice will use the €1 million pre-seed funding to enhance its legal AI platform, improving the workflow from case analysis to document generation.
- The investment will support team growth and stronger customer support, while also enabling expansion into new markets, beginning with the Netherlands and France, all with a focus on reliable and accountable AI for legal practice.
“Alice solves one of the biggest blockers in legal AI: trust. Built by lawyers and already adopted by law firms, the platform aligns AI innovation with the realities of legal practice. That is why we strongly believe in the future of Alice," explains Isabelle Tennstedt, Partner at Seeder Fund.
