Hampshire-based health tech startup Zeus Sleep has raised £150,000 to tackle snoring and sleep apnoea. The fresh capital comes from the British Design Fund.
- Launched in 2023 by John Moxham and Howard Clarke, Zeus Sleep has developed Zeus, a non-invasive anti-snore device specifically designed for throat snorers. Worn under the chin during sleep, Zeus delivers gentle electrical pulses (using TENS technology) to stimulate the tongue and throat muscles, helping to keep the airway open, which is a primary cause of throat snoring.
- The device adheres to the skin with soft, medical-grade hydrogel pads and is designed for all-night comfort. While in use, Zeus operates quietly to reduce snoring without disturbing the sleeper or those nearby.
Details of the deal
- The investment was backed by the British Design Fund, an early-stage investor that supports purpose-driven UK companies focused on product design and manufacturing.
"Their commitment to improving wellbeing through cutting-edge technology aligns perfectly with our mission to support pioneering, purpose-led British startups. We are excited to back Zeus Sleep as they bring their groundbreaking products to market and make a meaningful impact," claims Damon Bonser, CEO of British Design Fund.
- The £150,000 investment will help Zeus Sleep accelerate the development and launch of its anti-snoring device, expand manufacturing capabilities, and support marketing efforts for its upcoming product.
- Additionally, the funding will also contribute to the clinical validation and development of future medical-grade devices aimed at treating sleep apnoea, helping the company bring its innovative sleep solutions to market and improve global sleep health.
“Sleep health has a profound impact on physical and mental wellbeing, and our technology is designed to help individuals and families achieve better rest. With the support of our investors, we are one step closer to making refreshing, uninterrupted sleep a reality for everyone," Nigel Clarke, CEO of Zeus Sleep, stated.
