New VC Funds

  • German growth-stage VC DTCP closes its third, $300M fund to back European/Israeli/US startups. The firm will focus on cybersecurity, web3, AI, fintech, vertical SaaS solutions as well as IT applications and cloud infrastructure software entering their series B+.
  • Climate tech venture platform Extantia announces a €300M VC and fund-of-funds. The firm will back scalable deep decarbonization startups and global climate tech funds.
  • Pan-European VC Point Nine Capital unveiled its sixth, €180M fund to invest in B2B SaaS/marketplaces across Europe, US/Canada, and Turkey. The firm will back seed-stage startups with €500k to €5M tickets.
  • US-based Horizon Capital hits the first, $125M closing of its $250M fund. The firm will focus on Ukrainian and Moldovan startups.
  • An Estonian VC Trind Ventures announced its second, €55M fund to back European startups. The firm will target companies with B2C and C2C models, together with consumerized B2B software.
  • Private equity firm Zubr Capital raises a $96M fund to back CEE's IT startups. The firm will invest from $2M to $10M in each company.
  • Invento Capital raises additional 7.5M PLN to continue backing energy, medtech chemical and new materials-related startups. The firm will use the monet to invest in 6 additional companies.

CEE Startup Funding Rounds & Acquisitions

  • The acquisition spree: Poland's biggest horizontal platform Wirtualna Polska buys out %60 of the county's biggest audiobook service Audioteka. The size of transaction is said to be 95M PLN.
  • Digital platform for heat pump and solar panel installation Woltair raises €16.3M series A to expand across Poland, Germany and Italy.  The round was led by ArcTern Ventures and followed by Westly Group, Aternos, Kaya VC, Inven Capital, and Movens Capital.
  • Ukrainian IT company Intellias acquires a retail product development agency Digitally Inspired. The size of transaction is rumoured to be close to $20M.
  • An Estonian CX quality assurance startup Klaus secures a €12M series A to expand the team and its geographic reach. The round was led by Acton Capital and followed by its previous investors among Icebreaker, Creandum, and Global Founders Capital.
  • Romanian technology company QUALITANCE gets acquired by one of the largest European tech consulting Alten Group. The size of transaction remains undisclosed.
  • Lithuanian mobile/online banking platform for the hospitality/travel industry myTU raises a €5M seed round to growth across EEA and the US. The round was raised from an undisclosed angel syndicate.
  • A community incentivization platform KOOS picks up a $4M seed round to build up its market presence in UK and Europe. The round was led by Plural VC and followed by LocalGlobe, tiny.vc and a co-founder of Entrepreneur First Matt Clifford.
  • CEE's largest digital platform Polsat Plus acquires a local tech portal Antyweb.pl. The group has acquired %70 shares yet the size of transaction remains undisclosed.
  • Macedonian platform for international remote work Native Teams gets €2M seed round to expand globally. The round was led by Eleven Ventures and followed by Fil Rouge Capital, Haatch Ventures and Quake Capital.
  • A marketplace for soon-to-expire food Foodsi picks up 6M PLN to further growth throughout Poland and foreign expansion. The round was closed with the help of CofounderZone, Satus Starter, together with the co-founders of Pyszne.pl Arkadiusz Krupicz and Piotr Czajkowski, as well as Marcin Celejwski, Piotr Markowski and Bartosz Ciołkowski.
  • No-code analytics platform Datrics raises an undisclosed amount from NEAR Protocol. The investment will be used to further develop the product for web3/blockchain use cases.
  • Ukrainian AI consulting Neurons Lab enters into a strategic partnership with an AI development company Roosh. The company has sold between %31 to%49 of its shares to its partner.
  • Safety and productivity camera monitoring startup for industrial setting Surveily gets €1M in funding to expand in UK and DACH. The round was led by Kogito Ventures, Satus Starter, Black Pearls VC and a number of business angels.

Startup Calls

  • Valencia Digital Summit offers free tickets to its conference. The topic of the conference will be "Inspiring the Good future" and the participants will be able to pitch and connect to potential business partners and investors alike. The event will occur between 24th and 26th of October.
  • Warsaw will host a MedmeetsTech conference in the early winter this year. The participants of the event will have a chance to hear various industry experts, have the potential of pitching their startups, and connect with investors. The event will occur on the 8th of December.
  • Poland is soon to host the country's biggest nanotech conference InterNanoPoland. The event will be a great place to connect with both the business and research community as well as discuss or showcase nanotech projects. The event will occur between the 18th and 19th of October.
