New VC Funds

  • UK's Lightrock Climate Impact Fund debuts with a €860M scaleup fund. The firm will focus on the topics of energy transition, decarbonisation, sustainable food/agriculture, and transportation. 
  • French Otium Capital announces a new, €150M evergreen fund to support early-stage startups. The firm will back European startups across seed and series A.
  • Czech Credo Ventures closes its fourth €75M early-stage VC. The firm will back startups across CEE.

CEE Startup Funding Rounds & Acquisitions

  • Czech blockchain development platform Tatum gets a $41.5M investment. The round was led by Evolution Equity Partners and followed by Octopus Ventures, 3VC, Tensor Ventures, and Depo Ventures.
  • Manufacturing ERP platform Katana announces $35M series B to continue developing the product enabling a wider SMB support. The round was led by Northzone and joined by Lightrock, Atomico, 42CAP and a number of angel investors. 
  • Bulgarian-found B2B marketplace for African agricultural goods Almacena gets €3.5M in seed funding to expand into the US. The round was led by Eleven Ventures, followed by Venture Friends and Acequia Capital
  • An insect farming startup FlyFeed picks €3M in a seed round to build up its first farm in Vietnam. The investors remain undisclosed. 
  • An API integration platform Superface.ai raises €2.6M to strengthen its product development efforts. The round was led by Tera Ventures and followed by Caesar Ventures, Quantum Angels, while being joined by the company's past investors among 42CAP and Tensor Ventures.
  • An Estonian 3D printed jewelry startup Cloud Factory grabs €2M round to scale its product. The round was led by Change Ventures, Superhero Capital, together with Printify's co-founder Artis Kehrisand and a founder of Oberlo Andrius Šlimas.
  • Demo SaaS startup Demoboost gets €1.7M in funding to invest in company's global expansion. The round was funded by btov, Movens Capital and a number of business angels. 
  • Czech social media management platform Advertee raises 2.5M Kč for business development. The investment was made by SFG Holding
  • Polish behavior-analysis startup Braight Technologies wins the main nomination of How to Web and takes home €500k in a cash prize.
  • A dog prosthesis company Wimba raises 4M PLN to expand internationally. The round was raised from Level2 Ventures.
  • Digital mental health platform Wellbee picks up 3.5M PLN in funding to build up the product. The investment was made by WP2 Investments.
  • Corporate travel/expense management company Mindento obtains 1.5M PLN in funding for further business development. The round was finalized through JR HOLDING
  • Children's item marketplace Bubaa closes its first 1M PLN in funding for product development. The round was led by Impera Alfa.

Startup Calls

  • Revo Capital and Startup Wise Guys organize a startup pitch battle. The applications are open till the 22nd of October. 
  • A startup studio for Ukraianian startups Up-n-up opens up for early-stage projects. The company will help develop an MVP, validate the product and in general - prepare a startup for the first funding round.
  • Valencia Digital Summit gives out free entrance tickets for its upcoming event. The conference will see a lot of local and international VCs, startup founders and big tech leaders. The main event will occur between October 24th and 26th.
