New VC Funds
- Peter Thiel’s Founders Fund closes $11B mutlistage fund. As usual, the firm would invest in bold, futuristic startups across sectors and geographies.
- More funding for the Metaverse startups: a new specialist fund - FOV Ventures raises €16.5M to support opportunities across European seed and pre-seed startups in the sector. The fund would invest up to €500k in each opportunity.
- A Game-Changer VC launches a fund ready to provide early-stage funding after a short, 10-minute online application. The firm would invest an up to $25k in each company across different sectors and within CEE.
- Holland-based Rockstart raises €27M to invest in energy startups of the future. The firm is looking to back seed to series B startups across sustainability in Energy, AgriFood and Emerging Technology.
CEE Startup Funding Rounds
- Y Combinator alumni startup Tenyks secures $3.4M seed funding to help ML engineers monitor and troubleshoot computer vision models. The round was led by Speedinvest and First Minute Capital
- Austrian Biotech startup Arkeon raises €6.5M to develop its revolutionary product converting CO2 into food. The funding received will be used for further development of the product and its core processes.
- Bulgarian-led InspectHOA picks up $3.1M funding to simplify real estate transactions. The round was led by SVQuad
- Polish Medtech SaventicHealth raises 10M PLN to drive AI adoption in the diagnosis of rare diseases. In the nearest future, the company aims to further develop its algorithms, capture the local market while starting to expand internationally.
Open Calls For Startups
- Demium is accepting the applications for the incubation program which can help an individual founder or early stage startups. In either case, Demium will invest an initial €100k and help you move forward on your first milestones. The application deadline is 30th of March.
- Visa Innovation program is looking for fintech startups and scaleups with validated business ideas across broad spectrum of the corporation’s challenges. The application process closes in three days - on the 14th of March.
- OTP Startup Booster Program is looking for scaleups and later-stage startups across the globe to kickstart a pilot program aiming to improve the operational efficiency of an OTP’s banking solutions. Participating teams have a chance to get mentorship, clients from across CEE and more! Application deadline is on the 11th of April.
