New VC Funds

  • Germany announces the creation of €1Bn-large DeepTech & Climate Fonds. The firm will back German and European scaleups with up to €30M investments.
  • Swiss VC Momenta launches $100M funds to invest in industry 5.0 startups. The firm will back companies across the EU, EFTA, UK, US, and Canada.
  • Kraken crypto exchange alumni announce the creation of $65M Kraken Ventures. The firm will invest across Europe and the US, mainly in crypto and fintech, wiring $500K to $2M checks into early-stage opportunities.
  • UK-based Silicon Roundabout Ventures announces the first close of its £10M fund. The firm will invest £100K-300K in pre-seed and seed-stage companies building the future of computing, data processing, climate tech and/or security.

CEE Startup Funding Rounds & Acquisitions

  • Belarusian-found workplace management platform Fibery raises a $5.2M series A to invest in its sales/marketing efforts. The round was led by Tal Ventures and joined by AltaIR Capital.
  • UiPath's alumni building a lifecycle management platform Kubeark close a $2.8M pre-seed round to build up its partnerships network and invest in product development. The round was led by Credo Ventures, with participation from Seedcamp, LAUNCHub Ventures and 500 Emerging Europe.
  • Polish biotech synthesizing rapeseed proteins, NapiFeryn gets €2.5M in investments to start commercializing the product. The round was led by Icos Capital and joined by an undisclosed family office.
  • Estonian EV charger producer VOOL closes a €1.7M seed round to expand throughout Europe. The round was led by Specialist VC and joined by Opus 11 VC and Startup Wise Guys, as well as Elar Nellis (Pipedrive), Taavi Kotka (Estonia's former CIO), Justin Jenk and Toomas Kõuhkna.
  • Lithuanian producer of EV chargers Inbalance grid closes a €1.5M round to expand across Lithuania. The round was led by Equite.
  • Czech VPN provider for businesses, GoodAccess receives a $1.2M investment to fund its further expansion plans. The round was co-led by
  • Nation 1 and Fazole Ventures.
  • Ukrainian-found accounting management platform Fuelfinance raises a $1M seed round to further finance its business growth. The round was joined by Stratminds VC, BADideas.fund, Bolt's CEO Markus Villig and CEO of Sendbird John S. Kim.
  • Romania real estate platform Milluu gets €1M investment to support its regional expansion across CEE and Poland in particular. The round was led by Cofounder Zone and joined by the startup's previous investors.
  • Polish AI bot for video meetings SmartyMeet raises 1M+ PLN in its pre-seed round to expand across the UK. The round was led by LT Capital.
  • Lithuanian-found digital therapeutics startup dHealthIQ obtains a €500k investment. The round was co-funded by LEH and Interhealth Holding B.V.

Startup Calls & Events

  • Ukrainian Startup Fund and the Ukrainian Ministry of Digital Transformation announce GIST PITCH DAYS for science-heavy startups. The program is open to innovators in healthcare, agriculture, biotechnology, energy/ecology and industry/ infrastructure researchers. The applications are open till the 20th of February.
  • Sustainability–focused pre-incubation program for student researchers, Green Hexagon announces a call for applications. Those accepted into the program can expect an invitation to a 3-day bootcamp at the University of Applied Sciences Wiener Neustadt and a €5k grant. The program is open to students/graduates or researchers from the University of Latvia, the University of Tartu, the Czech University of Life Sciences Prague and the University of Applied Sciences Wiener Neustadt till the 15th of February.
  • FIA (Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile) calls startups to join its mobility-related Startup Challenge. The applications are open to startups with innovative ideas on car-related services, mobility services, or wider assistance services – such as home, health, lifestyle, or personal assistance found in Europe, Africa, or the Middle East. The applications are open till the 31st of March.
