Dublin-based SaaS startup Solidroad, which uses AI to improve customer experience through conversation analysis and training, has raised $6.5 million in a seed round, bringing its total funding to $8 million.
- Established in 2023 by Mark Hughes and Patrick Finlay, Solidroad develops an AI-powered quality assurance and training platform for customer experience teams. The software automatically reviews 100% of customer service conversations, across chat, email, and other channels, and evaluates them using custom scorecards.
- Then, it generates tailored training simulations for human agents based on real interactions and provides refinement suggestions for AI agents. Managers receive analytics on team performance, while agents receive targeted feedback tied to specific moments in conversations.
- The system is used by support, sales, and customer success teams to reduce handling times, improve customer satisfaction, and accelerate onboarding, all without increasing headcount.
Details of the deal
- The investment was led by First Round Capital, a San Francisco-based venture capital firm that backs startups in their early stages. Its portfolio includes notable companies like Notion, Roblox, Uber, and Square. Y Combinator and various business angels also joined the round.
- Solidroad will use the $6.5 million to hire across engineering, sales, and customer success. It will enhance its AI-powered QA and training platform, scale its infrastructure for handling more conversations, and accelerate customer acquisition and onboarding.
"We’re building the infrastructure to raise the bar for every customer interaction. This financing gives us the fuel to go faster, and we plan to earn it. We’re hiring aggressively, shipping fast, and obsessed with quality," said Mark Hughes and Patrick Finlay, co-founders of Solidroad.
