Madrid-based freelancer platform Shakers, which connects companies with freelancers to build and collaborate, has raised €14 million in a Series A funding round led by Partech.
- Founded in 2020 by Héctor Mata, Nico de Luis, Jaime Castillo Parages, and Adrián de Pedro, Shakers is a platform that connects companies with top-tier freelance talent in software development, design, and marketing.
- It helps businesses build flexible, on-demand teams by giving them access to the top 7% of pre-vetted professionals.
- Powered by AI, Shakers streamlines the hiring process, allowing companies to publish projects, receive qualified candidates in less than 24 hours, and get started quickly.
- The platform simplifies operations by centralizing payments, contracts, and team management. Businesses only pay for work delivered, helping them reduce fixed costs and manage freelancers with ease.
Details of the deal
- The Series A round was led by Partech, a Paris-based global tech venture capital firm managing €2.5 billion in assets, with offices in Paris, Berlin, Dakar, Dubai, Nairobi, and San Francisco.
“At Partech, we believe that while AI is reshaping the way we work, exceptional talent will always be at the heart of the future of work. We're proud to back this visionary team and are excited to support them as they scale across Spain, Europe, and beyond," explains Simone Riva Violetta, Senior Principal at Partech.
- K Fund, a Madrid-based VC that raised a €70M fund to support Southern European founders, along with Brighteye Ventures, Athos Capital, and Wayra, Telefónica’s innovation arm, also participated in the round.
- Shakers will use the €14 million funding to expand across Europe, double its team within the next year, and accelerate the development of advanced AI features on its platform.
- The goal is to enhance talent matching, enable seamless collaboration between freelancers and AI agents, and support the execution of over 10,000 hybrid projects by 2027.
